Kraken released its unified wallet for clients in the European Economic Area on October 16, 2026. The feature integrates spot, margin, earn, and derivatives balances within the Kraken Pro platform.

By opting in, the user allows the default cross-margin setting to use the entire eligible balance as collateral. This means a losing position in futures contracts can drain assets held in spot and yield products.

The system eliminates the need to transfer collateral between separate wallets. Activation occurs manually in account settings and requires the user to enable futures trading.

More than 40 cryptocurrencies, along with fiat currencies and gold, serve as collateral under specific valuation rules. Assets such as USDT and DAI have zero value as collateral for users in the region due to a total haircut.

The change centralizes liquidation risk into a single pool of assets. The isolated margin model remains available for specific linear contracts as an alternative to limit exposure for individual positions.
