Using stablecoins for international remittances costs 84% less than traditional banking methods. Data from the third quarter of 2026 reveals that sending 200 dollars via stablecoin networks costs a median of 2 dollars, while the conventional system requires about 12.72 dollars.

This cost difference is observed across various emerging regions. In Sub-Saharan Africa, fees drop from 8.46% to 2.9% when using digital assets. In Latin America, the cost of transactions via stablecoins sits at 1.25%, compared to 5.64% for traditional channels.

The corporate sector is also seeing efficiency gains from this technology. A 10,000 dollar transfer to the Eurozone costs about 26 dollars through stablecoin providers, while an international bank wire ranges between 135 and 150 dollars.

Beyond financial savings, settlement speed is a key differentiator. In countries like Brazil, payments via stablecoin networks integrated with the PIX system are completed in a median of just two minutes.

This landscape reinforces the adoption of digital dollars as an alternative for global payments. The agility and fee reduction make stablecoin infrastructure a competitive option against established bank remittance models.
