The Robinhood blockchain network saw a significant jump in trading volume for tokenized stocks during its first quarter of operation. The system processed $14.05 billion between July and September of this year.
Monthly transaction volume grew rapidly throughout the period. The amount climbed from $526 million in July to $11.31 billion in September.
This expansion generated $51.11 million in transaction fees for the infrastructure. Robinhood retained approximately $45.93 million of that total before operating expenses.
In contrast, the settlement cost paid to the Ethereum network was only $69,170 during the same interval. The Arbitrum ecosystem received about $5.11 million for providing the underlying technology.
The success of the operation demonstrates how financial institutions can capture value by controlling asset execution infrastructure. The number of tokenized stocks available on the platform doubled to reach 193 assets by the end of the quarter.
The growth of the network reflects a shift in value capture dynamics between blockchain layers. The disparity between operator revenue and settlement costs on the main network may influence the perception of risk regarding economic decentralization and demand for digital infrastructure assets.
