Hyperliquid Strategies Seeks U.S. Futures Trading Registration
A Nasdaq-listed firm's subsidiary aims to offer regulated derivatives to American investors.
Hyperliquid Strategies has filed an application to operate as a futures commission merchant in the United States. The initiative aims to allow American clients to access perpetual futures markets within a framework regulated by the CFTC.
The plan utilizes the HIP-3 framework, which enables the creation of permissioned markets on the Hyperliquid infrastructure. The company intends to act as an intermediary for American user accounts in environments restricted to approved participants.
CEO David Schamis stated that the strategy seeks to capture the economic value of the Hyperliquid protocol. The company held 38.5 million HYPE tokens at the end of September, valued at approximately 3.5 billion dollars at the time.
The company reported a net profit of 620.6 million dollars for the quarter. The result was driven primarily by unrealized gains from the appreciation of the HYPE token, which rose from 65 to 91 dollars during the period.
Other major financial market players are also seeking similar partnerships to bring on-chain derivatives to American soil. The success of these operations depends entirely on the approval of local regulatory authorities.
