Blockstream has launched a new consulting division aimed at financial institutions. The company opened an office in Lugano, Switzerland, to serve European banks and asset managers.

The new unit focuses on providing technical support for developing Bitcoin-based infrastructure. Services range from initial strategy to the implementation of systems for issuing tokenized assets and confidential settlements.

The choice of Lugano aims to leverage Switzerland's banking tradition and its regulatory environment for digital assets. The location will serve as an operations hub for clients in cities such as Zurich, Geneva, and Zug.

The consulting team will utilize the company's experience in cryptography and protocol engineering. The firm's portfolio includes technologies such as the Liquid network, custody solutions, and Lightning Network support.

CEO Adam Back stated that integrating Bitcoin into existing financial systems represents the next phase of technology adoption. The expansion seeks to connect the company's technical expertise with the specific demands of the European institutional market.
