Kaiser Ng will be replaced by former Airwallex executive Justin Yek amid recent operational challenges at the exchange.

Binance Chief Financial Officer Kaiser Ng has announced his departure from the company to pursue new projects. The transition follows a six-month planning period.

Ng had been at Binance for over five years and held the CFO position since January 2022. Before joining Binance, he spent about five years in the same role at the Kraken exchange.

His successor will be Justin Yek. He previously served as the vice president of finance at the company Airwallex.

The leadership change comes just over a week after Binance suffered a cyberattack. The incident resulted in the loss of 6.3 billion dollars in cryptocurrency.

The company stated that it will absorb the losses caused by the theft to protect its customers. The FBI and researchers have attributed the attack to North Korean hackers.
