Nubank Halts Crypto Asset Transfers on Its Platform
The digital bank blocks incoming and outgoing digital currency transfers while working to normalize the system.
Nubank suspended operations for sending and receiving digital assets this Friday. The financial institution communicated the instability through direct alerts to users within its official application.
The company operates the NuCripto service to offer trading for assets such as bitcoin and ethereum. The bank relies on external partners to handle custody and provide liquidity for these virtual assets.
As of now, the company has not detailed the technical reason for the interruption of these features. The digital bank emphasized that its teams are working to restore access to transfer capabilities as soon as possible.
The digital asset sector is facing a period of heightened caution due to recent security incidents on other global platforms. The market is monitoring whether the measure adopted by the Brazilian institution reflects a preventive precaution against cyber risks in the financial system.
The instability in accessing digital assets may increase the perception of operational risk for investors who use centralized banking platforms as custodians for their cryptocurrencies.
