The Ibovespa in dollars rises as investors await the Copom interest rate decision and US political fallout.

The political landscape in the United States underwent a major shift with the Democratic Party's victory in the House and Senate. This legislative power structure creates new hurdles for the Trump administration's agenda. Abroad, investors remain focused on earnings season and labor market data such as the ADP report and payroll figures.

In Brazil, the financial market is on edge ahead of the Monetary Policy Committee meeting. The decision on the benchmark interest rate arrives this Wednesday. Institutions are split between a pause in the cutting cycle or maintaining current levels. The committee's statement will be scrutinized for clarity on the future of monetary policy amid fiscal uncertainty.

The Ibovespa saw six consecutive declines and closed the last session under pressure. Conversely, the Brazilian index traded in New York, the EWZ, rose 1.80%. The dollar reached its highest value since late 2025 as economic agents show caution regarding the domestic environment.

The corporate sector is also driving business with earnings releases, including the Itaú conference call. Additionally, the Ministry of Labor and Employment is expected to publish September Caged data. Market projections estimate the creation of 163,639 formal jobs for the period.

Political instability in the United States may trigger volatility in global capital flows, affecting asset risk premiums and the dollar exchange rate. In Brazil, the path for interest rates directly influences the yield curve and the attractiveness of the Ibovespa for institutional investors.
