Qatari Diplomats Seek to Restore Ceasefire Between US and Iran
Mission in Tehran aims to prevent military escalation before US elections

Qatari government representatives arrived in Tehran this Friday to negotiate the restoration of a ceasefire agreement. The delegation is working in coordination with United States officials to establish a new diplomatic process between the nations.
The initiative follows the delivery of a letter from American Vice President JD Vance to Iranian security chief Mohsen Rezaei. Local sources reported that the tone of the correspondence was received positively by Iranian authorities.
The situation remains uncertain due to conflicting statements coming from Washington. President Donald Trump warned Gulf allies about the possibility of a high-intensity military campaign shortly after the midterm elections.
The Qatari delegation is looking to define a potential schedule for future talks. In-person meetings could take place in Doha or Istanbul next week to discuss the terms of a new dialogue.
This diplomatic effort aims to prevent a new round of direct attacks between the countries. The mission is attempting to establish a basic framework for negotiations before the climate of hostility worsens in the Middle East.
