Iranian officials have been publishing messages in English directed at the American public. The focus of these communications is the financial impact of the war between the United States and Israel on the American economy.
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf recently highlighted the rise in inflation to 3.7 percent. He also released materials linking the military conflict to higher fuel costs and increased government spending.
Analysts observe that this strategy aims to raise the political cost of the conflict for the Donald Trump administration. The goal is to influence the landscape of the midterm elections taking place next month.
The Republican Party is attempting to maintain control of the Senate and the House. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party is using opposition to the war to gain ground in historically conservative regions.
Beyond economic issues, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian criticized the ecological damage caused by the clashes. He described the environmental impacts in the region as a form of environmental genocide during an international event.
