Securitize has announced the integration of the Stellar network into its tokenization infrastructure. The move was unveiled during the Meridian 2026 conference held in Lisbon. The company already provides support for Ethereum, Solana and Avalanche.
Securitize focuses on converting assets such as debt and equity into digital tokens. This process allows securities and commodities to be traded continuously. The technology aims to lower traditional geographic barriers within the financial market.
The Stellar network was chosen for its speed and scalability. The system allows for specific configurations regarding customer identification and sanctions compliance. Major institutions like Franklin Templeton already use the network for tokenized money market funds.
The tokenization of real-world assets is gaining momentum among investors seeking digital alternatives to traditional instruments. The growth of this sector reflects the demand for liquidity in assets that were previously restricted by banking hours and slow systems.
The adoption of new blockchain networks for issuing real-world assets may increase liquidity fragmentation across different ecosystems. This raises the complexity of risk management for digital portfolios.
