Chery Prepares Global Launch of Autonomous Robotaxi
Level 4 vehicle will be marketed under the Omoda brand in international markets
Chinese group Chery has unveiled a new Robotaxi model designed to operate without a driver. The vehicle features Level 4 autonomous driving technology and was showcased during the 2026 International User Summit in China.
The company has formed a strategic partnership with K2, based in the United Arab Emirates, to facilitate the international expansion of the service. The project is based on the Exeed EX7 SUV, but global commercialization will take place through the Omoda brand.
The system allows passengers to request rides via an app and control cabin functions remotely. The vehicle can complete routes without human intervention and independently manages tasks such as charging and cleaning.
The manufacturer highlights that the model was designed specifically for commercial transport. The goal is to automate fleet management and reduce reliance on manual labor in daily operations.
Currently, there are no plans to introduce this service in Brazil. Implementation depends on specific adjustments to local legislation to allow for the operation of driverless cars.
