Senior commander Siddiq Ander has announced his departure from Sudan's Rapid Support Forces. In a video statement, he described the organization as a strictly family-run project controlled by relatives of leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti.

Ander stated that Hemedti's family members hold absolute control over the group's weapons flow and finances. He reported that military promotions and troop movements are based on kinship ties. According to the former commander, any attempt to challenge this structure results in severe punishment or imprisonment.

This departure is part of a series of high-level defections recorded throughout this year. Other commanders have already left the organization, taking hundreds of soldiers and military vehicles with them. Some of these officers have moved directly to the Sudanese Armed Forces following internal disagreements.

The conflict in Sudan began in April 2023 due to a power struggle between the army and the militia. The war has displaced approximately 13 million people and created famine conditions in several regions of the country. The increasing use of drones in attacks on civilians has worsened the regional instability.

Political instability and the fragmentation of armed groups in strategic regions increase global geopolitical risk. This scenario of uncertainty often drives the search for reserve assets and may affect the volatility of the dollar and Bitcoin during periods of risk aversion.
